On Wednesday, June 15th, students in grade one had the opportunity to meet, interact with, and learn from a group of students from Michigan Lutheran Seminary, a high school in Saginaw, Michigan, USA. Senior 1 foreign English teachers Adam and Morgan Schaffer welcomed visitors to tour the school and teach classes on Wednesday.

The visitors included six students who recently graduated from high school, two teachers, and Adam’s parents. All six students will begin attending college in the fall to become teachers. Throughout the morning, the American students taught about high school life in America. All visitors participated as well in our weekly English corner that we hold every Wednesday during the lunch break. Many students came to meet and greet the foreigners and spend an excellent time practicing their English and learning about American culture.

The American students will spend about ten days in total travelling around China, visiting different schools and learning about the culture, along with seeing the beautiful sights of this country. Maybe they will consider one day coming to teach English in China. Wednesday was an overall great experience for both the American and Chinese students!
